Turmeric Elixir

After all my Super Bowl Sunday indulgences, I needed to start my week with a healthy juice. Therefore, I turned to turmeric as it has so many health benefits. It's my go-to "superfood".  When peeling a turmeric root, I recommend using a disposal glove as it will stain your hands.



ingredients

4 inch piece of fresh turmeric, peeled
3 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled 
3 organic lemons, peeled
Dash of cayenne pepper
Filtered water or young coconut water 
Raw honey (optional) 

preparation

Juice the turmeric, ginger, and lemons. Add juice to the filtered water or fresh young coconut water. Sprinkle in cayenne pepper and stir the mixture. Place in an airtight glass bottle and refrigerate up to 3 days. Enjoy!
